Dance: Jutta Mayer

The light flickers on the walls of my thoughts, brushes against my skin, like sounds coming from the depths of the sea. Becoming a landscape, which recomposes itself from the distant and the foreign.

Light and sound waves, passing through air and water sometimes cause subtle disturbances, fleeting distortions, like moving shadows in the environment. In our bodies, these subtle vibrations are perceived and awake resonance, a profound echo that touches our inner being without our full awareness. The vibrations of the electroacoustic sounds in the composition 'Epipelagico,' whose title evokes the aquatic world, as well as the transformative process of photosynthesis, were the main sources for this piece.

Jutta Mayer is a dancer, performer, and choreographer of Austrian origin. She lives and works in Paris, where she keeps enriching her artistic expression through dance, singing and photography. 

Introduced to butoh dance by several masters from Japan, Latin America and Europe, she deepens this practice for more than 15 years. She creates her own solos and collaborates on numerous projects, often of international scope, with other dancers and artists from various backgrounds. She is co-founder of the butoh company "Tacuabé.
