From the wilds of a dry valley, research relations of circumstances that make us move and existences that guide us.

It explores chords that move through the darkness of the night and spin towards untrained actuators.

The performance serves as a tribute to the reviving ritual traditions.

Santeri Vikström (@hobutoh) is a butoh practitioner from Helsinki, Finland.

His background includes butoh, various wisdom traditions, and improvisation theatre.

He has been on a mission to build bridges between butoh and various other domains, cultivating the possibility of emerging artful alchemy.

On the way, he has presented and organized performances, workshops, and long-term courses in dozens of places.

Kuivan laakson saloista tutkii olennon suhdetta liikkelle laittaviin olosuhteisiin ja ohjaaviin olemassaoloihin.

Se ammentaa yön pimeyden läpi kulkevista jänteistä ja kieppuaa kohti kesyttämättömiä liikuttimia.

Performanssi toimii kumarruksena elpyville rituaaliperinteille.

Hänen työnsä rakentaa siltoja butoh’n ja muiden alojen välille, vaalien mahdollisuutta ikiaikaisen muisteluun kuin uudenlaiseen taiteelliseen alkemiaankin.

Vuosien varrella hän on järjestänyt ja esittänyt kymmeniä butoh-esityksiä, työpajoja ja pitkäkestoisia kursseja eri puolilla maailmaa.
