Thursday 15th
Unheim
Dance: ONJA
Sound design: Valo Lankinen
Unheim explores a sense of home that has been disrupted. Where liminality creeps into the living room and voids open their mouths under the kitchen chair. Embodying the uncanny landscape of being lost in one's own home the performance walks the path of endless strangeness and hopes for an opening to experience something that never happened.
ONJA is a performance artist and neuroscientist based in Helsinki. With 15 years of experience with butoh, their practice is mainly site and moment specific focusing on exploring the boundary between the self and the world and the self and the collective through somatic awareness. Their main tools are movement, stillness and voice which they find through natural elements, presence and coincidence.
